It is another exciting week for us. Fortunately, we found out something new and creative that can be beneficial in the industry. Since last week, we are in thorough search for ways on how to make our work innovative that can surely catch the attention of the readers. We owe it a lot for our inspirations that enable us to achieve what we really wanted; it is all about Gifographics. At this moment, you will discover that off-site optimization is not all about gaining links, it is also about learning the power of creativity that enhances the importance of visuals.
Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a bitmap image format that was introduced by CompuServe in the year 1987 . It has come in the World Wide Web because of other platform’s support and portability. Based on wiki, the format supports up to 8 bits per pixel for each image, allowing a single image to reference its own palette of up to 256 different colors chosen from the 24-bit RGB color space. In addition, this format allows animations and separate palette up to 256 colors for each frame. This is the reason why those palette limitations make GIF format not suitable for reproducing colored photographs and other images with continuous color. Rather, it is well-suited for simpler images such as graphics or logos with solid areas of color.
We usually see GIF in just a single image. But have you ever imagine what will happen if you combine static and animated images in a GIF file? Will this be a possible? YES, it is possible. And believe it or not, it is now conquering the world of online marketing.
We found out Gifographics because of our fondness in creating GIFsets of Tumblr. We are searching for some fresh ideas to include in our articles and we think that it will be a very interesting topic. On our first search, we discovered about the article of Neil Patel about the 7 Essential Ingredients Every SEO Campaign Needs where he presented how Gifographics can drive traffic to a website, just like one of his example: 350,000 visitors in just 30 days (truly an awesome news) to “How a Car Engine Works Gifographic. This article manifests that Gifographic are incredibly efficient because of its ability to acquire lots of shares, likes and links which is truly a “gold for SEO”. According to him, infographics are not played out but they just don’t work as same as before. Additionally, when we are going to search for it, we will find out the Neil seems to be the first one who coin this term.

Surprisingly, Gifographics already existed in the World Wide Web since 2012. It was called as animated infographic by the blogger who posted it. Jeca Martinez’ post entitled “An animated infographic” was just a midterm project for her typography class. But this project gave birth to Gifographics. She was first in the Philippines who started animated Inforgraphics or a Gifographics style. Although it started in 2010, the concept of animated inforgraphics will be seen in videographics or infographics in a video format. It is not same as what Neil Patel presented.
Aside from Jeca, we also found out the post of Matt Byrom on Innovative Animations Infographics(Animated), a post dated January 13, 2014, where in it is earlier than Neil’s post but it is not yet known as a Gifographic.
I am privileged enough to have a team that is inquisitive enough to take risks and try things that are new to them. I am excited to impart the creation of my social media strategist Sheila Mae who serves as the “gifoartist”. This is all about the Gifographic on the use of Tumblr for SEO and social media marketing which is based from the article of Takeshi Young at Moz blog.
We are so grateful to the blog of Neil and Jeca that greatly contribute for the completion of this project. Additionally, a big thumbs up to the awesome article of Takeshi Young that became our main subject since we love using Tumblr, especially the use of Gifsets in our blog. I also want to commend the help of Flo and Archie for their effort to complete this project.
One of the important thing that we want to inculcate to our readers is that through collaboration, unity and group effort, you can really make impossible things possible. This is just the beginning for us, we will surely widen our scope to discover more.
